1.3 Work-Eager

Sage hummed as she prepared breakfast. While she had the stove replaced with a much better model, she’s still hesitant to use it again so soon after the house fire. For now, she sticks to low-prep food like peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches.

Soon after breakfast it’s time for work. She’s eager for her shift today, both in desperate need of cash after buying a new stove and excited to help out back stage. There was a never ending stream of tasks for her to do- raise the curtains, get this for this stage actor, get that for that band, help move the play sets… she loved it!

After her shift, she changed back into her regular clothes. Reluctant to return home so quickly, Sage walked to the nearby library.

When she’s not working, Sage doesn’t mind a good book now and again. It’s a nice distraction from the real world where things happen out-of-the-blue and without order or reason. In these stories, everything happens for a certain purpose and there is usually an understandable resolution by the end. If only life could be so simple.
“Are you the…new lady?” a little girl whispered behind her. Anita has never met anyone new before.
“Yes. You can call me Ms. Silverly,” Sage responded.
Anita raised her eyebrow, clearly confused, “Are you a teacher?”
“No.”
“Then why should I call you ‘Ms’?”
“Because I’m older than you and that’s the way you address your elders.”
Anita made a face. New people are weird.

Eventually Sage tired of the novel. When she got up to put the book away, the little girl was long gone.
Children should be seen, not heard, Sage thought to herself. That little girl was so nosy!

When she eventually returned home and goes to bed, she only had one thing on her mind.

AN: Short update. On days Sage works, not much outside of the theatre happens in her life. I can now almost afford a guitar for her to practice with at home.

  1. Lol, Sage's properness and obsession with manners is hilarious. My sims are not usually so by-the-book, so I think she's really interesting!

    1. Right? I also usually don't have sims that are so rigid. But I had a really clear idea for her character from the beginning. I'm glad you enjoy the story :)

    1. XD Poor Anita Lobos... there aren't many new people in town and she just got excited.

Well since this is a random legacy, your wish *will* be fulfilled... but when? And with whom?? And how many kids??? :O

  3. Does sage have a trait pertaining to children? She doesn't seem to dislike them exactly but she doesn't seem to like them either. Crazy how dirt-poor you are in the beginning of this challenge, she was only able to use the instruments at work how did she audition to get a job there I wonder?
PB and Js are always the smart choice at the beginning LOL
